IMPROVE SAFETY

As our top priority, we are committed to the safety of our customers and employees. Safety, including the security of data, are measured by the following key results:

REDUCE TOTAL CRASHES ON THE OHIO TURNPIKE IN 2020

- Use a five-year rolling average with a focus on the  following types of crashes: construction zone crashes; serious injury and fatal crashes; and fixed object/sideswipe/rear-end crashes.

2020 data will be updated first/second quarter 2021.

CREATE AND LAUNCH A PLAN TO ENHANCE SAFETY AND SECURITY AT ALL OHIO TURNPIKE FACILITIES

- Articulate eight safety and security objectives by Dec. 31. 2020.

REDUCE AVERAGE TRAFFIC INCIDENT RESPONSE TIME TO LESS THAN 20 MINUTES

 - Average incident response time as measured in minutes.

REDUCE INCIDENT RATIO FOR EMPLOYEES FROM 3.98 IN 2019 TO 3.75 IN 2020

- Reduced incident ratio as measured by the number of PERRP/OSHA recordable injuries and illnesses x 200,000/employee total hours worked = total case incident rate.

REDUCE LOST TIME RATIO FOR EMPLOYEES FROM 1.46 IN 2019 TO 1.25 IN 2020

- Lost time ratio as measured by the number of days lost x 200,000/number of labor hours.
