MAINTAIN EXCELLENT SYSTEM CONDITIONS
We are committed to providing our customers with a smooth ride on the mainline and on bridges. We are also committed to ensuring minimal wait times at toll booths and that technology will support the travel experience. This data is measured by the following key results:
MAINTAIN A PAVEMENT CONDITION RATING OF 85
- Condition Pavement Rating: The Ohio Turnpike's pavement is visually inspected annually to determine the severity and extent of various pavement issues such as potholes, rutting, faulting and cracking. The inspection uses a Pavement Condition Rating (PCR) to measure the distress level for a section of pavement. The PCR method measures the distress level on a scale from zero to 100, with 100 being the best.
MAINTAIN BRIDGE GENERAL APPRAISAL RATINGS OF 7.0 (GOOD CONDITION)
- Bridge Condition Rating: The Ohio Turnpike's bridges are inspected and scored annually using FHWA's National Bridge Inspection Standards. A General Appraisal Rating (GAR) is scored for each bridge and takes into account the physical condition of major parts. The GAR for each bridge is measured on a scale from 0 (closed) to 9 (new/excellent condition). GAR are defined as 8 (very good condition), 7 (target / good condition), and 6 (satisfactory condition), respectively.
2024 general appraisal bridge rating will be updated in August 2024.
